Legacy & Other Giving

You might consider donating appreciated stock or bonds instead of cash. The total value of the stock upon transfer is tax-deductible, and this gift allows you to avoid paying the capital gains tax on the appreciation. Wiring instructions can be viewed here.

Leaving a Legacy

When you designate a planned gift to Center for Conflict Resolution, you join a community of thoughtful supporters leaving a legacy of hope, care, and generosity for the future of the organization. A planned gift to Center for Conflict Resolution allows you to create a legacy for the community as you support our conflict resolution services.

Charitable bequests made through wills or revocable living trusts are a popular way to support Center for Conflict Resolution.  Bequests are simple to arrange, offer flexibility, and can reduce estate taxes.

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)

Many CCR supporters choose to donate via grants from their Donor Advised Fund (DAF). We gratefully accept these donations and provide an acknowledgement directly to the donor, sharing the impact of their gifts. When you make a DAF gift, the sponsoring organization might not share your information with us. If you don’t receive an acknowledgement email or mailed letter, please email avanzee@ccrkc.org so we can make sure to thank you appropriately.

Check out our FAQs about giving through a Donor Advised Fund.

A Memorial or Tribute Gift

Honor someone special or commemorate a significant occasion—a birth or birthday, wedding, anniversary, or graduation with your gift. Just check the appropriate option if giving online or include a note with your mailed check, to let us know if we can send a card acknowledging your memorial or tribute gift.

Qualified Charitable Distribution

Individuals and couples age 70½ and older have a tax-smart strategy called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), also known as a charitable IRA rollover. The QCD allows a donor to instruct an IRA administrator to send up to $111,000 per year—all or part of the annual Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) — to one or more operating charities. If you are 73 or older, QCDs count toward your annual RMD requirement.

Couples who submit tax returns with married filing jointly status each qualify for annual QCDs of up to $111,000, for a potential total of $222,000. Donors can also direct a one-time, lifetime limit of $56,000 QCD to a charitable remainder trust or charitable gift annuity. Please consult a tax professional in regard to your particular situation.
